He agreed with her fervently until she pulled away and got him moving toward the cabin again. “I still have a little unfinished business,” she told him. “Wait for me inside?”

He kissed her in answer, making an erotic promise with his lips and tongue. “Don’t be long, Alexandra.”

When he had gone in, she sat back down on the porch and opened the journal again.

Julie was right, Mother. It’s come full circle, just as it-was meant to. Fairy tales are real. And so are miracles. She closed her eyes and smiled. I know you’ll always be with me. We both have our journeys to make.

Good- bye, Mother. I love you.

She closed the journal, tucked it under her arm, and went to find her miracle on the other side of the door.
