Aakjaer, Jeppe

Aakjaer, Jeppe (1866–1930)
Danish poet and novelist. Born in Jutland into a poor peasant family, he was an
anticleric who became an impassioned campaigner for the rights of peasant workers.
He is best remembered for his poetry, especially Rugens sange/Song of the Rye
(1906).
