Abbotsford
home of Scottish novelist Walter Scott from 1811, on the right bank of the River
Tweed, Borders region, Scotland. Originally a farmhouse, it was rebuilt 1817–25 as a
Gothic baronial hall, and is still in the possession of his descendants.
