Bassist who moved from Tennessee to Chicago in
1952. Performed with Howlin’ Wolf, James Cotton,
Koko Taylor, Eddy Clearwater, and Junior Wells.
His bass playing may be heard to advantage on
Cotton’s 1960s Verve recordings and on Charlie
Musselwhite’s LP Stand Back! (Vanguard, 1967).
