Wyntoun, Andrew of (c. 1350–1420)

Scottish chronicler. He was prior of the monastery of St Serf on Loch Leven from
about 1395 and wrote The Orygynale Cronykil of Scotland about 1420, a metrical
record from the creation of the world to 1408. It contains the first appearance of
the story of Macbeth.
